Everything you should know about Images (sensor, pixel scale, magnification, rotation)

The Sony IMX224LQR image sensor has a raw image size of 1305x977 and a typical frame rate of 60 fps. No camera is needed to take and share photos with the eVscope or eQuinox: the sensor used in both products will allow you to get the best combination of resolution and sensitivity allowed by its construction. You can then retrieve the pictures directly on your smartphone.

The pixel scale is 1.7 arcsec. The field of view is ~30 arcmin.

We could go to a magnification of x225, but like for a normal telescope, it is not advisable to go beyond 1.5 times the primary diameter in mm (114.3 mm).

We use a fast image stacking algorithm and variable exposure time to provide an on-the-go while-it-stacks live user experience. Our algorithms are capable of compensating small movements of the field, the rotation of the field of view as well as correcting for light pollution. The stacking also produces a neat image in the eyepiece of the eVscope.
