Depending on the object you're observing and your personal preferences, you may want to adjust certain image settings. The Settings mode allows you to adjust the settings for your captures: exposure time, brightness, background, and gain.
This mode is accessible from the observation page by tapping Settings.
Note: The available parameters in Edit mode will be different if you are in Live View or if Dynamic Signal Amplification (Enhanced Vision) is activated.
Settings mode for Live View
Tap Automatic to turn off automatic settings and adjust the settings to your preferences. Use the left and right sliders to make adjustments.
In Live View Settings mode, you can adjust:
Gain: controls the amplification of the signal from the camera sensor
Exposure time: the duration of the sensor’s exposure to light (photons) emitted
Settings mode for Enhanced Vision (Dynamic Signal Amplification)
When the Enhanced Vision (Dynamic Signal Amplification) feature is enabled, you can adjust:
Brightness: this controls the overall lightness of the image
Background: controls the overall darkness of the image
To reset the settings to their defaults, tap Automatic again.
Note: While observing Planets or the Moon, you can adjust the gain and exposure time. However, editing is not possible in Enhanced View (Dynamic Signal Amplification) mode for these objects. Settings mode is not available for the Sun (the gain is already set to its minimum value).
