Below you'll find answers to the most frequently asked questions about ENVISION Smart Binoculars.

Is it a real or a digital image?

It is a real classical optical image. The only digital part is the red AR (Augmented Reality) that is overlayed in your sight. 

 

Can glass wearers use these binoculars? 

Absolutely! They are perfect for glass wearers thanks to their retractable eyecups.

 

What is the eye relief of the binoculars?

The eye relief is 12mm.

 

Are the binoculars image stabilized? 

No, mechanical image stabilization would significantly increase the cost.
Using a monopod is recommended for stability during extended use.

 

Can the binoculars be mounted on a tripod or monopod?

Yes, with the optional Binocular Mount Adapter, the binoculars can be mounted on any standard tripod or monopod with a 1/4-inch screw.

 

Are the binoculars waterproof?

The binoculars can withstand use under moderate rain but are not designed for submersion or use in heavy rain.

 

It is possible to take pictures with them?

No, they do not have an integrated camera for that.

 

Do the binoculars have a camera?

No, they do not feature a camera.

 

Do the binoculars have night vision?

No, they don’t feature night vision, but optical binoculars (like ENVISION) do slightly improve nighttime terrestrial viewing compared to the naked eye.

 

Which language will be available?

Available languages will be English, German, French, Japanese, and later on Spanish, and Italian.

 

What is the warranty period?

Lifetime Warranty for the optics, 2 years from delivery for the electronics

 

Is the AR projected in one single or both eyepieces?

The high-resolution, high-luminance AR projection system, a costly component, is only present on the right side of the binoculars. However, for the vast majority of users, the brain naturally merges both views into a single field. After a brief adjustment period, it feels natural, as if both eyes are experiencing the AR display.

 

What kind of AR overlays can I expect?

The overlays include celestial objects, terrestrial landmarks, and various points of interest. Users can customize the level of information displayed.

 

Is the overlayed text size adjustable?

Yes, it is!

 

Can I add custom points of interest to the AR database?

This feature is under consideration and may be developed based on user feedback.

 

Does it work without an internet connection?

Yes, ENVISION works whether you are online or offline. Make sure however to download the maps of the region you will go to in advance if you expect to have limited connectivity there.

 

Are solar filters available for the binoculars?

Yes, solar filters are available as an add-on and are designed to be securely attached to the binoculars.

 

Can I add accessories to my pledge after the campaign ends?

It is recommended to add any desired accessories during the campaign to ensure availability and discounted prices.

 

Which Countries does it ship to?

USA, Canada, Mexico, European Union, UK, Switzerland, Norway, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, India, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrein, Kuwait, Qatar, and Oman.

 

When will the binoculars be delivered?

The expected delivery date is November 2025.

 

Are taxes and shipping costs included in the pledge amount?

No, taxes and shipping costs are not included. You will need to pay $19 for shipping and any applicable VAT or sales tax during the delivery process. Most countries do not apply duty tax on binoculars.

 

How will I know when and how to provide my shipping address?

You will be contacted a few weeks before the delivery to provide your up-to-date shipping address.

 

Will there be software updates for the binoculars after delivery?

Yes, the Envision binoculars will receive regular software updates to improve functionality and add new features over time.

 

Is there an SDK available for developing custom applications for the binoculars?

An SDK is being considered, and user input will help prioritize its development.

 

Will the terrestrial database be updated regularly?

Yes, the database will be updated over time, and these updates will be delivered through the companion app via Bluetooth.
