Why should I adjust my binoculars?
Since everyone has different eyesight and facial features, it’s important to adjust the binoculars to your eyesight and face for comfortable observation.
These optical adjustments will ensure you get a sharp, comfortable image tailored to your vision every time you use them.
Can I use ENVISION if I wear glasses?
Yes. Common vision conditions such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism should not prevent you from using your ENVISION binoculars.
The binoculars are designed to be used without glasses thanks to their built-in optical adjustments. However, some people may find it more comfortable to keep their glasses on while observing.
Feel free to try both setups to determine which one works best for you.
How do I adjust the eyepieces?
Start by adjusting the eyecups:
- If you wear glasses, push the eyepieces in
- If you don’t wear glasses, pull the eyepieces out
This adjustment ensures your eyes are properly positioned relative to the optics for optimal comfort.
How do I adjust the interpupillary distance on the binoculars?
Fold the binoculars so they fit your face. Your vision should be clear and comfortable in both eyes.
Once you’ve adjusted the interpupillary distance, you shouldn’t need to change it frequently.
How do I get a sharp image?
To get a sharp image, use the focus wheel and the diopter ring.
- Look at a distant object
- Close your left eye and use the focus wheel until the image is sharp with your right eye
- Then close your right eye and use the diopter ring to get a sharp image with your left eye. The diopter ring helps compensate for any difference in vision between your two eyes. This adjustment usually only needs to be made once.
Once this adjustment is complete, simply use the focus wheel to adjust the sharpness based on the distance of the object you’re observing.
How do I know if my binoculars are properly adjusted?
Your binoculars are properly adjusted when:
- The image is sharp with both eyes
- You see only a single image
- Viewing is comfortable and does not cause eye strain
If you experience any discomfort, feel free to readjust the interpupillary distance, focus, or diopter ring until you find the setting that works best for you.
