Image Saving Errors or Unable to Connect to the Telescope Wi-Fi?

Follow

On the very first launch of the app, several permission pop‑ups will appear if you’re connected to your Unistellar telescope’s Wi‑Fi network. To control your equipment and save your images without interruption, grant them in this order:

  1. Location
    – Select Allow While Using the App
This lets the telescope know your position so it can orient itself correctly.

  2. Local Network Devices
    – When you see “UNISTELLAR would like to find and connect to devices on your local network,” tap OK
Since you’re already on the telescope’s Wi‑Fi, denying this will block any future connection.

  3. Notifications
    – Tap OK, then Allow
You may be prompted twice—always confirm so you receive alerts and updates.

  4. Photos
    – When the app requests access to your photo library, choose Allow Access to All Photos
This final pop‑up only appears the first time you try to save to the gallery; you can preempt it by opening the Gallery tab (furthest to the right) and granting access there.

Following this sequence ensures smooth control of your Unistellar telescope and full access to all features.

If you mistakenly select another setting, you can adjust it by going to your device settings, scrolling to the list of apps, tapping on the Unistellar app, and changing the desired option, as shown below.

You need to grant full access to your photos; otherwise, you'll keep getting an error message that you need a settings change.
