About Unistellar Warranty

Follow

At Unistellar, we design products that are built to last. Our 2-year warranty reflects our commitment to quality and your long-term satisfaction. Here's everything you need to know about our warranty coverage.

Note: The buyer should deal with the original vendor and their warranty policy if the purchase was made via a distributor. Unistellar cannot manage complaints for a unit that a third party sold.

What is the warranty duration?

  • Standard warranty: 2 years from the date of delivery.

  • Extended warranty: Available to customers who have subscribed to Unistellar Care, with special conditions (please refer to the Unistellar Care terms).

What does the warranty cover?

The warranty covers:

  • Manufacturing defects

  • Malfunctions not caused by misuse

  • Internal hardware issues not related to wear or external damage

What is not covered by the warranty?

The warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear of parts

  • Aesthetic damage caused by handling or usage

  • Damage due to misuse, accidental drops, or improper storage

  • Damage caused by using accessories not recommended by Unistellar

Is the battery covered under warranty?

Yes, but under specific conditions:

  • The battery is covered for 6 months from the delivery.

  • Coverage is valid only if the battery is used according to our guidelines.

What happens if a product cannot be repaired?

If a product is deemed irreparable while under warranty, we will replace it with a product of identical specifications. Note: receiving a replacement does not extend or reset the original warranty period.

What about software issues?

If the issue is software-related and the product remains functional (i.e., can point to 80% of visible targets, track, and stack images), you may need to wait for a future app update.

I purchased my unit through an estate sale. Is it under warranty?

It depends on when your telescope was sold and delivered to the first owner, directly to a customer or a reseller. This also applies to second-hand purchases. You can email us your serial number, and we will check the history. Please note that warranties do not reset when the item is resold.

-------------------------------------------

The original package should be kept. If the customer purchased the product directly from Unistellar, we take care of everything if the warranty is still running, as long as they can provide the original invoice. Invoices are available upon request.

Please note that your warranty will be invalidated if :

  • The warranty period has expired
  • You opened the product or modified it in design or function, or subjected it to abuse, misuse, mishandling, or unauthorized repair (based on random online advice, for example)
  • In case you used a filter, and we discover your fingerprints on the camera upon inspection

We would like to remind you that checking tripods and the base prior to each session is critical for your safety, that of others, and that of your equipment. This check needs to encompass all locks, bolts, and attachment points for the telescope, and it's mentioned in the user guide to be careful with the product.

IMPORTANT: Your Unistellar scope is fragile. Do not let it drop or fall. In case of shocks, it can be permanently damaged, and this will not be covered by the warranty unless you subscribe to our Unistellar Care insurance.

If your warranty has expired, we can estimate the cost of repairs when repairs are possible, based on the diagnosis by our technical expert. Each case is unique, so please provide detailed pictures and videos of the damage. When contacting us for any technical request, please provide the serial number of your telescope
