Minimum Requirements for the UNISTELLAR App

Follow

UNISTELLAR telescopes are smart, connected devices. This means you will need to connect your telescope to another device to operate it. The UNISTELLAR App was designed for smartphones and tablets and is compatible with both Apple and Android systems.

As for the API, due to our patented proprietary software, development is currently handled internally, and we are focused on improving the existing version.

The UNISTELLAR App can only be installed on Android or iOS devices. It is not compatible with Windows or Mac/MacBook (PC or laptop).

Minimum requirements for a smartphone or tablet:

  • Android 10 or iOS 15* (however, we strongly recommend using at least Android 11 or iOS 16)

  • At least 2 GB of RAM and 500 MB of available storage space (1 GB is preferable) for installing the app and storing images in your device’s gallery

  • Note: the app is not supported on FireOS, Kindle, Chromebook, Fairphone Open or Huawei Harmony OS devices

Please note that the UNISTELLAR App is not fully operational:

  • On older iPhones and iPads running iOS 14 or earlier (iPhone 3G/GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 5S/C, iPhone 6S/6 Plus, iPad Air, iPad Mini 2, iPad Mini 3)

  • On older devices running Android 9 or earlier

What does this mean?
If you are using a device that is no longer supported, you may not be able to install the latest software updates. Over time, this could lead to certain objects in the catalog becoming unavailable for slewing, and the app’s performance may become noticeably slower.
