ODYSSEY and ODYSSEY PRO: What Do LED Colors Mean?

Follow

These are the different LED behaviors you can see on your Odyssey or Odyssey Pro telescope:

  • Red or Blue (depending on your telescope's settings): the telescope is ON and ready to connect.
  • 1.jpg2.jpg
  • Red or Blue blinking (depending on your telescope's settings): the telescope is in use (e.g., Goto or stacking).
  • Cyan and blinking 5 times : the telescope is off and charging. During charging, the 4 indicators on the right side of the central LED progressively fill up to show the charging level. Once all 4 are lit, the battery is fully charged.

  • Purple/magenta: the telescope embedded software is turning ON or OFF.
  • Purple blinking 5 times: the telescope is OFF and doesn't have enough charge to turn ON. You need to charge it.

  • Note: the white LED may have a slight blue tint and can appear as a very pale blue in some cases.

Additional LEDs on Odyssey and Odyssey Pro

  • On the left side of the central LED, there are 4 small indicators showing the upload progress of your observation data. As the upload progresses, these indicators fill up one by one. When the upload is complete, all 4 are lit solid green for 1 minute.

  • If the data upload failed the color will switch to orange.
  • Design sans titre (3).gif
  • On the right side of the central LED, 4 small indicators show the battery level when you press the central LED once briefly, or the charging level when the telescope is plugged in.
    • Each dot represents approximately 25% of battery.
    • Example: 3 dots ON = approx. 75% battery.
    • When the battery is very low, only the last dot remains visible, it turns red and blinks slowly and faintly to indicate a critical battery level.

Note: If your LED remains purple or white regardless of your manipulations (you fully charged the unit, and rebooted it several times), please contact our support.
