Is the eVscope good for Planets?

The eVscope is not designed to provide stunning images of Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. You can, however, see the planets and distinguish some of their structures (ring of Saturn, satellites, phase of venus) with our telescopes. We will post some pictures as they are recorded by our team.

Using the eVscope you can also see the fainter planets like Pluto, Uranus, and Neptune, which are difficult to pinpoint and see with a classical telescope. Check out our blog post to see for instance an observation of Pluto.

Keep in mind that Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, and Venus can be easily seen and spotted even with a few hundred dollar telescope. That’s why we chose an optical design that allows the eVscope to perform brilliantly on the hundreds of other interesting faint objects of the night sky and ~6,000 asteroids.
