Cold temperatures can affect your telescope’s performance. To ensure optimal operation, we recommend thermalizing your unit for at least 30 minutes before use. This allows the telescope’s internal components to adjust to the ambient temperature, reducing the risk of thermal distortion.
Then, proper orientation is crucial for accurate automated focus and sensor calibration. Please follow these steps to perform the telescope’s orientation:
-
Ensure Thermalization – Make sure your telescope has been acclimated to the surrounding temperature for at least 30 minutes.
-
Start the Orientation Process – Use the Unistellar app to launch the orientation process.
-
Repeat if Necessary – If the first attempt does not yield satisfactory results, perform the orientation multiple times.
The orientation process will also relaunch focus, ensuring better image quality.
Optimizing Image Capture
For the best imaging experience:
-
Change the Observed Object – After observing an object, select a different target and perform the orientation again.
-
Capture Multiple Images – Take several images in a row for consistency.
-
Re-orient Between Objects – Always perform the orientation process each time you switch to a new celestial object.
By following these steps, you can enhance the accuracy of your UNISTELLAR telescope and achieve clearer, more detailed astronomical images.
