How to Do the Telescope’s Orientation?

Orientation allows your telescope to know where to look in the night sky and automatically target catalog objects within your visible sky area.

Our system instantly recognizes objects in its field of view by comparing them to an internal map of the coordinates of tens of millions of stars.

Orientation occurs automatically before each pointing. However, you can always initiate orientation manually, which may be necessary for scientific observation or when targeting an object using its RA/Dec coordinates. 

Once your telescope is connected to the app, you can access the observation page by tapping the Observe button .

On the observation page, tap Move and use the joystick to move your telescope until you can see stars in the live view.

Once you can clearly see a few stars, tap Tap to orientate the telescope.

The orientation process should take less than a minute, after which a confirmation message will appear at the top of the screen.

Note: If the orientation fails, you can retry on another part of the sky.
