Explore the Sky with Guided Tours on your UNISTELLAR Telescope

Follow

Guided tours offer a themed observing route to guide you through the evening.

Read them as articles without connecting your telescope, or follow them with your instrument to observe the featured objects.

1. Choose a tour

From the planetarium, swipe up to open the Explore page.

At the top right, select Telescope to display tours suited to your instrument. When you connect your telescope, the selection adjusts automatically.

Choose a tour that interests you. The tour's beginning usually indicates the recommended season and hemisphere for observing it.

2. Download the tour to observe without Internet access

If your phone will not have Internet access while observing, you can download the tour in advance.

While you still have an Internet connection, open the tour and tap the download button at the top right. Wait for the download to finish before heading out to observe.

3. Start the tour

Connect your telescope and make sure it is oriented toward the sky and ready to observe.

In the tour, tap Start, then tap Start in the launch banner. Your telescope automatically points to the first observable object on the route.

If some objects are not observable, the app lets you know before the tour starts and offers to continue without them.

4. Observe the first object

Once pointing is complete, check that Enhanced Vision is active. If it does not start automatically, open the observation page and tap the Enhanced Vision button.

Take your time observing: the image may reveal more detail over the following minutes. Allow between 2 and 20 minutes, depending on the object's brightness and the quality of your sky.

5. Switch between the text and the observation

During the tour, the text for the current object is highlighted.

To open the observation page, tap the small window showing the telescope's image. Exit this page to return to the tour.

On the observation page, the i button at the top right opens the object's details.

6. Move to the next object

You move on at your own pace when you have finished observing.

  • From the tour, tap the right arrow on the player at the bottom of the screen.
  • From the observation page, tap Watch Later at the top of the screen to move to the next object without returning to the article.

The telescope points to the new object, and the tour highlights the corresponding text.

Guided tours for telescopes do not yet include audio narration.

7. Observe freely

You can also choose the objects that interest you without starting the tour or following the route in order.

Read the content at your own pace. To observe an object presented, open its object details, then tap GoTo. The telescope points to that object, and you can observe it as you would during a regular observation.

You choose each object independently of the tour.

Enjoy your journey through the sky, and happy observing with your UNISTELLAR telescope!
